RYA Training
If you are a beginner, there are many current members who will be able to go out on the water with you on your first few sailing sessions. Last year we began offering RYA courses through our affilliation with Burton Sailing Club, an RYA Training Centre, for club members looking to learn the basic skills needed to handle a dinghy. The course on offer is an intensive 2-day course to gain RYA Level 1 or 2. Sailing novices should expect to achieve level 1 by the end of the weekend, those who begin with a bit more experience may achieve level 2. Holding an RYA level 2 certificate allows you to hire a dinghy at most hire places.
The cost of the course last year was £60, including the RYA start sailing book, RYA log book and transport.
Through our affilliation with Burton Sailing Club we may be able to offer these other course when there is enough interest. If you would like to take part in one of these courses, please let us know.
