Exercise induced asthma research

Please respond to Mark Evans
Dear all,

I am an MSc Exercise Physiology student in the School of Sport, Exercise, and Health Sciences and I am currently recruiting participants for my research project investigation exercise-induced asthma.

The inclusion critieria are as follows:

- Male or Female
- Aged 18+
- Experiences asthma related symptoms (cough, wheeze, shortness of breath) when exercising

The study requires just one visit to the physiology laboratory to complete the following:

- measurement of exhaled Nitric Oxide (literally just breathing into a tube)
- some measurements of lung function (literally just breathing into another tube)
- the completion of two exercise tests which last no longer than 10 min each.
- provision of a sputum and urine sample.

All of these procedures are non-invasive and in total the testing will take up around 2 hours of your time.

I need around 30 subjects for this study so your help would be greatly appreciated!

If you would like to participate or would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact Mark Evans at M.R.Evans-09@student.lboro.ac.uk.  Please read the attached participant information sheet for more details about the study.

Thank you

Mark Evans
