BUCS – Windsurfing!
Hi Guys,
Its that time of year again, you may not be aware that last year despite taking a very small team down, Loughborough shone at BUCS claiming two of the 18 medals available and valuable BUCS points, not bad for 3 competitors. We aim to beat that again this year, lets see if we can further establish loughborough as a small but proud force to be reckoned with.
Attached is the link to all the info you need. I need numbers asap as i have to organise with the AU. I suggest for accommodation we camp (as will everyone else) meals or cooking for ourselves is up to you guys. Don’t worry about entries the uni pays them for us this time YAY!
SWA registered supporters are welcome to come down for the weekend on a party ticket (£10) and attend the infamous Southampton Boat Party followed by the Hangar Party after our hard day of racing.
Please note in the instruction, all beginners wishing to compete (even if you’ve never raced before!) must have a buoyancy aid there will be none available at the event, although all kit will be pooled for your use. Intermediates and Advanced are presumed to wear harnesses. These competitors are expected to provide their own harnesses and kit to race, as far as Loughborough kit goes there is only one board which can be raced according to guidelines and I’m afraid I’ll be taking that <anyone who wishes to be the laughing stock is welcome to take my freestyle board though…:) >. If enough intermediate/advanced want to go but don’t have kit we can look into borrowing/hiring some for that weekend although i’d need to know soon!
I hope as many of you as possible to can get your kit up here, volunteers for drivers are needed. I think I can arrange to be one of them. If you want to race i need, your name and ID number and you have to be a current LSSWC member which i’m assuming you all are. If anyone in the club is a secret pro and has a sail number i’ll need that too. Entry deadline is creeping up so by next week at the latest please.
